Default 98-02' Performance in cold weather?

Hi all,

Just wondering if it's ok to drive a Firebird in the cold winter weather. I'm not talking about snow, since I would definitely not want to drive it on the salt, but just cold weather. I plan on having a bird on campus with me sometimes, and it seems from some of the reading here that it is perfectly fine to drive them in the winter, but additional info never hurts. Thanks guys,

Brendan

It'll actually run better since the airs more dense when it's cooler. You just won't hook up as good since the roads are cold.

Thanks, that answers my concern. Just wasn't sure, since I'm a newbie.

Uphill grade + leaving a stop sign + 6 speed + snowy slushy ickiness = NOT FUN

The problem is that you will need to wash it more often. Also watch out for other people who don't know how to drive when it's slick out. It's that person sliding into you that will screw up things. My problem here is that they don't use salt, they put pea gravel on the roads instead. Chips the paint and pits the windshield. I will use the TCS if it's frosty. But I usually only have to worry about a couple bad weeks out here.

I've driven mine through all weather. Its not fun, but Ive only ever driven a firebird. You'll be fine as long as you have all season tires TCS and common sense. Don't fret.
