Alright Guys here it is i hit 60k on the clock today and i was driving i get on it a little and i here the noise that always makes me shutter i get rpms but no movement well the clutch is slipping and im wondering how hard it is to replace it I've done a few clutch replacements before did one in my 71 chevelle a 69 chevelle and a 92 Geo storm Gsi <<< long story on that one did a little ditch jumping tho
But honestly can i as a 18 year old in my garage on jack stands change a clutch on a 1998 Ws6 trans am the car is ls1 and a 6 speed and this is my first time trying on something this new so any advice is nice I'm not sure if I'm going to do it yet depending on what you guys say really and do you guys have any opinions for me what kinda clutch should i do if i go about this and any books i could pick up to help me do this
Thanks guys

Here is a link that might help you out as it has helped MANY over the years...Its on a Camaro but the same still applies to a TA.Book mark it as there are many useful tips and how to's on there.
As for the clutch many people have been telling me to go with SPEC when the time comes for me.Do your home work on that.Good luck.

Yea, you can do it. Ive replaced two clutches in my driveway with jackstands, the seconds time i did it all by myself (sucks for getting the tranny back on). Good luck, spec 3+ is a good clutch. Just take your time and make sure you have extensions and universals.

You need to find a local guy with tuning software as most tuning packages come with diagnostic tools. What is your location?
The clutch isn't hard to do, just make sure you get the car up as high as you can safely. And for about $100 you can buy a trans jack from Harbor Freight, which allows you to get the trans lined up far easier than balancing it on your floor jack or on your chest (if you are like me and dumb like that).
I was fond of my Textralia clutch setup, but that's some serious cash to drop.
