Default 2008 C6 vette=more power

Well I have been talkig with the guy I bought my C5 Z06 from. He said that the 08 modle C6 vette is going to get the LS3 motor. Well got my motor trend in today. 2008 corvette IS getting the Ls3 motor! It will now be a 6.2 liter v-8 with 430hp @ 5900rpm and 424pound-feet torque@4600rpm. Also a optional 436hp with a two-mode exhaust. Maybe they are putting in the Z06 cat back??? The car witht eh 430hp can hit 190mph now!!!!!!!!

Other features are two-tone color interior, new splitspoke rims, new center stack and brushed aluminum accents, paddle shifting automatic is faster acting and the manual shifter is slicker. It also gets the Z06's upgraded fuel system!

The colors:
LeMan's blue will be replaced by Jetstream blue
Monterey Red will be replaced by Crystal Red

Also next CTS-V will have 600hp and the Blue Devil will have close to 700hp! I say it will probably have like 750hp or so. Heard that GM will not let the vette get beat and out performed by Dodge or Ford. At what cost though????

Read the automotive news forum and you'll see this is old news. It's also been on corvetteforum.com for a while now.

Still cool stuff, nonetheless.

Yea, I got it rubbed into me pretty bad on the corvetteforum.
I think it is great that the vette is getting more power. Although the prices are getting outrageous and not many people can afford them anymore. Glad I got my C5 Z though.

The new "super" corvette is going to be outrageous. Down right scary. I'll take 2 please. J/k but seriously, I'll take 2.

I see a pattern with competing muscle cars viper vs vette. I bet by 2015 were over 1000hp. I love it

But the LS3 motor is going to be so tight that I'm not sure you will be able to cam it. We're doing some research right now on the heads and unless the motor has some huge reliefs it will be tough to get a biggger cam iin there. I'll keep my 500 rwhp lil ole LS2

Sorry, but I doubt they would have piston to valve clearances so tight you can't add a larger cam too it.
