Default Questions about Headers? from Iraq

I am currently in Iraq and the search doesn't work.

I haven seen many posts about headers. I don't really have a budget for them but I don't wanna spend more than $600.

What are the eBay headers I keep seeing? Are they the stainless steel headers that fit like 1980 Camaros and other Chevy cars? How's fitment and quality on these?

Edelbrock headers, fitment and quality?

Pacesetters, fitment quality?

Best site to get the above headers from?

I live in North Carolina, anybody know about inspection there?

I've personally used Pacesetters and they fit very, very good and I know a lot of people on here have good experience with them....they're very good for the price. I have heard the edelbrock headers are good too, I just don't have any experience with them. Good luck

I'm not hearing a lot of good things about coated mild steel headers. It sounds like they end up rusting in any case, you're probably better off going with cheap or used stainless. Don't know much about weather conditions in NC. And thanks for your service...

You will have to run cats in NC. If you don't and the shop does a visual inspection you will fail, no questions asked. I'll find the thread in one of the regional sections about the NC inspections that might help. I bought coated Pacesetters about two years ago and they have been on two different cars. When my Z28 burnt they were still in the car. I pulled them out, cleaned them off and put them on the TA. The fire reached about 1800 degrees and they dulled a little but they are fine.

I've had a set of Jet Hot coated LT1 headers, and presently HAVE the Armor coated Pacesetters... just on looks alone, they are nearly identical. As far as strength? I have had each through NJ winters with snow, rain, and salt and they look the same after. The Pacesetters are starting to brown a bit down near the collectors, I've had them for ~1year and 10k miles of daily driving.

Wow, just saw the XS headers are now a sponsor. Those will be the ones. Can't beat em.
