Clear Corners for the TAs > rear still not avail?
I don't understand this whole business about clear corners for the TAs. They were only avail for the front, but not the rear. What's the deal with that?
You would think they would make them for both the front and rear if they wanted to sell them for the TA too.
BTW, I understand changing to front clear corners in a Camaro is sort of envolved. Would you suppose the TA would be easier? Looks to me that both the front and rear corner lights are held in with 1 screw each.
Confused on all this clear corner stuff,
Ron

Its not the fact of having a clear lense. Its already clear. You just need to go out and buy a clear bulb and make the switch

Sorry....
I can't even tell you where to buy the fronts, much less the rears.
I think this is more of a Camaro mod to tell you the truth.

I think I am going to post this over in the WS6 forum of LS1.Com
They might know a little more about the TAs

Here is a link to a website where this guy has them on his T/A. I will search his site to see if I can find out where he got them. But the ARE available, at least for the front.

I have the clear side fronts & I had the clear side rears too that I had custom made. I got the fronts from http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com The rears aren't made yet though.

Re: Clear Corners for the TAs > rear still not avail?
The previous post is correct. I got the confirmation from "Pongo" last evening. It could be a little confusing as the same part is used for the rear of the Camaro and the front of the Firebird. You get a choice of red or amber bulbs for use with rear or front.
Hope this clears (no pun intended) things up for all those interested in the clears for the front of the birds.

Well, I'm not going to put clear front lenses on my car until someone makes the clear rears too.
I just don't want clear in the front and red in the back...

By the way, this is what "02FirehawkTA" over at LS1.Com had to say about the TA lenses:
The reason there are no clear corner's for the rear of the Firebird's is that there have never been any made *just* for Firebird's.
Right now you are calling me nuts, but hear me out
The clear corner's you buy for the front lenses on a Firebird, are the exact same ones used for the *rear* lenses on a Camaro. The rear's on a Bird are larger than the front's, and are not used anywhere on the Camaro.
In essence, they made clears for the Camaro (the front molded piece, and rear rectangular piece) and the rear's just happened to fit the front lenses of the Firebird's, so they sell them for that purpose as well.
No companies have decided to manufacture the off-sized rear lense for the Firebird yet.
To answer your other question about ease of changing them out...yes, they are VERY easy to change! I changed both of mine in less than 10 minutes on the Hawk.

Re: Clear Corners for the TAs > rear still not avail?
I have clears up front & the red in the back & I think it looks great. The red blends in with my car but that ugly orange up front stuck out like a sore thumb.

I think the clear/front and red/rear will look fine. The red in the rear will match the taillights, and the clear front will match the turnsignals/fogs/headlights. Very symetrical. The red blends, but the orange/amber sticks out. On an all black or pewter car, like Steve2000SS's, I think the clears look good all around. Just my .02

SunsetWS6 ....
With your cars color, the clear up front and red in the back looks good. Pretty car BTW...
I have a silver TA. I think the only way to go with this car is clear front and back.

I have a set of rear clear corners on my T/A, I got them for only 25 bucks too... you can find them on e-Bay listed as 00+ Sunfire front clear corners (exact same as afterthought sells)
