Default bout to order valves, but which ones?

stock, manley, or ferrera?

Price isn't really an issue...but I want a good reliable set that will be solid.

are manley and ferrera even better than stock?

thanks in advance

these are going in stock 243's w/PRC duals

If you polish your stock valves, I think they will work as well as the Ferreas. I like the Manley intakes because of the turned down stems. I've had Manley's before, and I like them, though I've heard lots of good things about Ferrea as well.

I would use the Ferrea valves, they have netted me better flow #'s.

I've been using Ferreas and they've lasted pretty good so far. If your comparing after market valves to stock, be aware how much Piston to Valve Clearance they eat up. The margin (thickness of the part that hangs down into the piston) of aftermarket valves is much thicker. I didn't realize this when I put Ferrea valves in my heads. You should be fine unless your running a high 230's cam and decent milling. If I could have done it all over again, I would have kept stock valves because you don't gain much from going from a 2.00 to 2.02 and my PTVC sucked.

are the ferrera's the same length as the stock valve?

I'd like to run my thunder racing pushrods

i'm running a small cam, so ptv clearance is not an issue and heads are unmilled

btw, stock valve size

Yes they make the stock valve lengths as well as longer ones as well. http://www.ferrea.com/catalog/2006Domestic.pdf Go to the end of page 38 and the first part of page 39.

If you can afford it, try to get your hands on some hollow stems.
