Going to court for MIC, any tips?

Going to court for MIC, any tips?
I was at a party a couple of months back, got busted, most of the people there were college freshman/sophmores, so were all under 21. I was the designated driver for the night, got there about 9, drank half a beer, party got busted at around 1. I blew in the breathalyzer at about 2, blew a .014, legal limit is .080. Think I could get away with saying I had been chewing gum all night or something? I don't see how I still blew anything, but hey, I blew the lowest out of everyone there. Oh well, anyone got any suggestions on how I may be able to get it dismissed or get the fine lessened without getting a lawyer?

Take responsibility for your fuckup, use THAT as your defense and admit your mistake. If you try to blame it on something else the judge will just nail you cuz he KNOWS your lying. BE HONEST! Tell the judge exactly but be honest, you never know. He might be easy if your are upfront and admit your mistakes.
Just admit, take the slap on the pee pee and move on.

Yeah, but the cop thought I was lieing to him when I told him I had 1/2 a beer about 4 hours before I took the test, when I wasnt. So the judge believing the truth probably wont happen. It sucks to, its the first party I have been to in about 2 years where I decided to not get drunk and be the designated driver. I originally planned on not drinking at all, but I had half of a beer. It sucks, but oh well.

Since it's an MIC and not a DWI, you MIGHT be able to get off. The law states that you can drink with parental consent. You just can't drive until you get back to .000. See how you can use that info. You DO NOT want an MIC on your record.

My friend that owns the house, his dad was there. He told the cops he would take full responsibility for all of us...Then the cops said they were going to breathalyze us to "show us how fast we get intoxicated." Then after they were done testing us, they gave us all tickets. Also, they just walked right into the house, through the front and back door. I thought that if you didn't want to let them in you didn't have to and that they werent allowed to let themselves in without knocking first.

That is the most sensable, most correct sounding, spot on piece of advice I have seen written on this website in 6 months.
Bottom line is, if you continue to lie your way out of bad situations you will continue to find yourself in bad situations... that is why there are things like consequences, Honesty, Integrity and Laws. I hate to see you in this situation, there are worse ya know.
It's cool, we have all made bad mistakes, but you must take responsibility for your actions. That is what will make you a better person.

RULE #0-KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
RULE #1-Deny Deny Deny
RULE #2-Don't take any tests they offer
RULE #3-Ask am I under arrest, no or yes, don't say another word with out council.
RULE #4-Do not be bullied, and keep your mouth shut.
But you did not do any of that so good luck.
