a marble in my crankcase?
one day i was washing my car and when i left the car wash about halfway home my car started making a rattling noise. it was uneven with rpm, as though there was a marble in my crankcase, and by the time i pulled into the parking lot, the rattle was audible from quite a ways away. when i stopped the car and listened to it, it sounded more like it was coming from underneath the car. it goes away at about 2,500 rpm. car ran and drove beautifully. however, i'm concerned because for some reason i'm reading around 80psi of oil pressure at about 4,000 rpm and was told that that was a sky-high pressure, possibly induced by a bad rod bearing (or main bearing?). i'm a newbie so i'm not too sure of all of this but another guy said it happened to his car so i think.....i'm screwed. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

well i checked the dipstick and no shavings whatsoever, so now i'll just drain all the oil. could use a change anyways. perhaps the oil filter trapped all of it?

This is gonna sound weird but check your starter. Mine made a noise exactly like that and what had happened was the starter was not withdrawing the starter gear that touches the flywheel completely. It worked to start the car but it wouldn't pull it all the way back so it was just bouncing slightly off the fly wheel. It sounds exactly like something rolling around in a tumbler. No damage was done to my flywheel fortunately!! Park on a hill facing up and see if it gets louder then try facing downhill and see if it almost goes away or lessens.
