Default Walked away from an 01 Z06

You all agree that I made the right choice? I went and looked at an 01 Z06...The car was a salvage title..only 13,000 miles. The thing had new car smell pumping out of the AC vents, and it was fast as hell...BUT it felt skidish....the tranny seemed to be very clunky, and the engine or clutch almost had a vibration to it as you reved gently to clutch out...the nose of the car was in poor fitment, and the airbags were deployed and still not fixed. They just glued the steering and dash back together. The message center kept flashing airbag , and then, active traction, service engine. seemed like a real nightmare. The lowest they would go was 21,000. 13,000 miles or not, I told them to get bent and drove off in my Lightning. Im all for a Z06 but I think I was right to walk away.

Yea..I know. Its the first time I have even been able to "consider" a C5 much less a ZO6 so I still had to look at it. I am SO glad I didnt do anything stupid..(Been known to do that B4) .. Its the general concensus in the LSX threads to go LS1 F-Body instead of C4....do you Vette guys agree..or think they are just partial? I dont like C4s as much as C5s, but I do like em.

As soon as you said salvage title, you made the right decision.

Well yea..I was thinking to myself....to "total" a 01 Z06 with 13,000 miles you must have gone for quite a wild ride!

The LS1 F-body will be faster. The C4 will feel more like a race car when you drive it. I would pick the 2002 WS6 over a C4 but thats just me. The C4 is a very fun car to drive.....it reminds me of the 3rd gen camaro IROCs.....but not slow.lol

it would probably make a good race car but that's about it. I had a "prior-salvage" car, it was a recovered theft though. It was a 1993 GMC Typhoon. Aparently the truck was stolen in Long Island NY and recovered in Philly a month later with the stereo missing and the steering collumn broken.

In good condition I wouldn't pay more than $25k. They're on crack if they want $21k.

You absolutely did the right thing.

The exterior of a C4 is nice, but I couldn't stand the interior. Id go with an Fbody
