my advice is to get a good amp now instead of having to buy one now and buy one in the future. Kicker makes a really good one for the price IMO.

"monoblock" is the general term for a 1channel amp. You can wire up how ever many subs you want to it as long as the resistance (OHM) load matches up with the amp's capabilities.

You have a pair of Alpine Type E subs? Wired up to a monoblock in parallel configuration will get you to a 2ohm-mono load. I don't know much about Kicker amps, but I've always like the JBL GTO amps. They put out full power at 2ohm and can generally be found cheap on eBay, www.sounddomain.com among other sites.

ya i have some old type type E's but i might get some 1500w type R's..

i also like MMATS subs and amps but i harder to come across

i also have some MA audio subs that i won on ebay a few months back for 2bucks (i think it was 2 bucks lol)

that wiring diagram seems pretty simple, what about wiring them up in series?? or would i not wanna do that??

If you wire it up in series you'll end up with an 8ohm mono-load....and that basically cuts the power output in 1/2.

you are def gonna need a mono amp. if it was me i would purchase an amp that puts out about 400-500watts at 2 ohms but is stable at 1 ohm. The power output at one ohm will be significantly greater than that @ 2 ohms. and would prevent you from needing to buy a larger amp when you go with the type r's. you would need the dual 4 ohm speakers and wire them in a parallel which gives you a 1 ohm mono load. Personally I would check out the memphis 1000 watt mono amp. its gonna run you about 400-450 but is an excellent sub amp choice.

Man I've got alot of time on my hands

Hate to burst your bubble, but looking for an amp that does a 1ohm load isn't always going to result in more power. There are plenty of amps that put out full power at 4ohm, and 2ohm. Each of them also have more power than some of the amps that put out full power at 1ohm.

If the original thread starter wanted a pair of Type R's and already had an amp that did full power @ 2ohm mono all he (or she) would need to do is just buy a pair of 2ohm DVC (dual voicecoil) subs.

That image would give you a final load of 2ohm-mono, which would be perfect for the same 2ohm-mono amp he would have for the pair of Alpine Type-E's that he (or she) already owns.

Looks good to me if you want to stick with Alpine. I'll look around and see if there is anything else nice out there.

Nothing wrong with Alpine. I prefer the PDX amps they have over the one you picked out, but thats just my preference.
