Vacuum leak? don't bother fixing it, just tune your idle!!
I'm awarding my self the Carlos Mencia "Dee Dee Dee" award.
story:
1) i installed a p/p throttle body.
2) i tore my PCV hose somehow(the rubber boot that connects the hose to the manifold)
3) my idle was allllll messed up when i started up the car
4) i thought it was the throttle body causing it because i was ALMOST certain that i didn't touch anything else(boy was i wrong)
5) had the car's idle tuned
6) ran perfectly
7) 3 months later my esteemed colleague, bruce, says "what's that sucking sound"
8) i investigate and realize my PCV boot is torn, allowing a huge vacuum leak which is what originally caused my idling problems.
So all this time i've had a gigantic vacuum leak, and it's been pulling air around my air filter.
i'm an idiot.
