you'll have to find out if it has a built in IAT sensor. The corvette 85mm sensors do and that's why you need the 3-5 wire harness. These may still need that harness, just the IAT half of the harness isn't used.

It's a great deal either way!

On ebay it goes into detail about the applications that it can be used on and it does say the Vette. So i guess you do need the harness. but hell a 85mm for 60bucks...can't beat that! does anyone know where i can get the harness from so i can make it compatable with my 02 SScamaro Ls1 for my swap?

I bought one and passed down the info. The part number is a good one if searched thru ls1tech for upgrades.

Casper's Electronics makes the harness. You can get it from most sponsors- Speed Inc, Texas Speed, etc.

So I would guess this is simular to the SLP version that costs almost $200 minus the cable? I guess this brings up the question is it really needed if you are not planning to build a motor capable of greater than 500hp. My reading on this forum indicates that the stock MAF is adequate under 500hp. I guess for under a $100 (cable and MAF) it would be enough of an incentive just to get no matter what you plan on investing in the motor.

Also the description for the cable says it is needed for use on a LT1. Would this be needed for camaro's equiped with the LS1 or is it a different cable that is needed?

yeah i was thinkin about that it said lt1, but o well.. i will just have to see,

i got 90mm tb/intake, so i thougth the oem was a little.. to small, so i think this one will be fine,

at least, if it works, i am glad, for that price, under 100 bucks for both, with taxes

I guess the easiest way to confirm is to look at the connection at the MAF and see if it has 3 or 5 wires. My car is under a car cover in the garage so will check when I get a minute.

I see three wires from the harness going to the MAF on mine so I guess that the cable is for LT1 or LS1.

Further I called and talked to Justin @ Casper Electronics and all of the LT1/LS1's found in Fbody's have the 3 wires that come from the harness. The larger 85mm MAF (found in LS1 vettes 97-04 but I am not sure of the LS6) requires the 5 wire plug so you need the adapter.

Seeing your signature it looks like you may benefit from the larger MAF although its benefit will, I feel, will only be noticed on a dyno.
