Sport Appearance package removal?
What is involved with removing the sport appearence package? Is it worth the time and effort or should I just forget it?
Thanks

Since you have a black car, the holes wont be very visible. I have a red car and they are only visible within 10 feet or so and that’s only if you look for them. Heres a few pics.
As far as removing it, its pretty straightforward. Remove all screws in the wheel wells, then the front and rear will come off with some force. The side skirts are screwed in under the car. I think 8 a side. The they pull off about an inch until you run into these ugly yellowish tabs that are stuck into the side skirt, just pull until they let go. Now you will be left with about 30 metal tabs riveted onto the car. I used a drill to remove the rivet but I dented up the car pretty good. The rivets like to spin so I would recommend using a grinder to grind the rivet heads off. Have some black touch up paint handy, you may have to touch up a few very small areas.

Ok, I for one will say don't do it. If you don't like them, then why did you buy a Camaro that came with the SAP in the first place?
I had em' on my old 2000 Z28 and never really cared for them. But there is no way I'd want all those ugly little nasty holes all over the bottom of my brand-new Camaro(very ghetto looking). I'm sure they could be filled in and painted, but that is still more work that you'll have to do.
I'd personally just leave them on(I think they look real good on a black Camaro like yours. ). And besides, not too many people have them.
