What cam to support 550+rwhp on a stroker?
What cam to support 550+rwhp on a 414 stroker? I am having Ron at Veng Racing port my Fast and port match it to the TFS 235cc heads. I was thinking of also changing my cam .I want a proven cam. My current cam is 244/248..612/615..112LSA. Should I go bigger or just see what the intake does? I dont want to change to much at one time but I want power. Driveability is not a issue. My comp. is 11.8 and I have all bolt ons. I already talk to Ron about a cam but I want to see what everybody else thinks.

more aggressive lobes may help do the trick... switch from the XER to LSK lobes and with those valves shooting open faster you will gain power. also it looks like you are running a proven middle range driveability cam for a 402/408, and a fairly aggressive cam for a 346...... almost the same cam MellowYellow is running in his 346.....so I suggest adding 10 degrees of duration and looking at getting the perfect advance and grind for those heads while you are at it.
Take Ron's suggestion..... also shoot Patrick G $25.00 via paypal for his input.... give him your bore, stroke, boltons and goals and he will give you your current timing events along with the difference in his suggestion. well worth the money! He is awesome.
Good luck bro..... you will still get drug by me..... I aint running you from that 65mph supra ****... it is gay. 20/30 roll for me!

Feel good about those heads man..... making the same power with 1.5 points less compression is a good thing. Who the hell would build a damn near 13:1 compression streetcar for texas heat and pumpgas to begin with?

You're going to get really close to 550 rwhp with the cam you have if the porting is done right. For a guarantee above 550, you could add 4-6 degrees to what you have.
250/254 .612/.595 112LSA +2

grind it straight up and degree the cam for the correct you are looking for.
xfi lobes are nice as well. you should consult an engine builder not a shop that just throws out cams. 99% of them call up a cam grinder and the techs at the cam companies are hit are miss with what you need.

Vengeance has done a lot R&D on cam profiles for LS stoker motors..they are not guessing and their results have proven that they know what they are talking about..

Your running cathedral port heads. If you make 550hp its going to be very far down the RPM band a 414ci. You should switch gears and run ls7 setup. It'll make more RPM and alot more power for the $$$

Im running a 259/267 @50 in my Mecham on a 115 LSA and great street manors. I think the tuner is the bigger issue with drivability... I could hardly drive my car with the much smaller G5X3 and and the tune from LG. After the larger cam was installed a good tune was done by a local shop and the car has great street manors. Im also looking into a Beck intake, I think the Fast 90 has become a restriction at this point.

Oooops I misssed the whole point of this thread..I thought we were discussing a camshaft application in a 414 cu. in. stroker motor....when in reality we were supposed to be impressing you.. .. if you don't have anything positive to contribute please spare us the BS from whogivesaratsass.com ..
