Question m6 problem

hi all i have a question im getting ready to buy a 98 ss with 94,000 on the ticker. The guy im buying it from said that there is a problem with the trans (very minor he said)
when you stop at a red light if the car is in nutral you have to put it in 2nd gear b4 you can put it back into 1st gear again. If you try to put it in 1st gear b4 you put it in 2nd it makes a noise not a grinding noise more like a rubbing noise but when you put it into 2nd gear and then it will go right into 2nd gear.
the guy said that the problem is normal after 80,000 miles (happens all the time) he said he read it in a couple articles trying to figure out what was wrong with it.

sorry if it isnt understandable i tried to explain it as good as possible if any one is having this same problem or has heard of it please let me know what is going on with it

thanks for the help

Should post in the trans forum. My M6 has some problems, but it doesn't do that. Any repairs to a trans isn't really "minor".

I agree with the bent shift fork comment. Happened to my 99 Mustang Gt.

+1 on the bent fork..if you plan on buidling this car for any serious power...go to t56rebuilds.com and ask them about a fresh rebuild...its worth it in the long run!!
