Default Street tire 60' times

Just a quick question....whats a good 60' for a street tire? Not really a drag radial but a good street tire.
Just for kicks, whats a good 60' for drag radials?
And slicks???

Are 2.0 or better times possible on street tires?

I only went to the track once with street tires...it was too discouraging for me trying to launch. The best I got was a 2.1 with the rest being 2.2's.

It is possible to cut 1.9 60' bone stock - I've done it with my 2002 Camaro SS Convertible with the 6 speed. I does take a TON of practice though.

The best I ever got with street tires was a 2.0 and that only happened once. Otherwise 2.1-2.2 was my average launch prior to switching to drag radials.

My best 60' on Mickey Thompson Street Radials is 1.65 per my sig.

Ok.....so my 2.2 wasnt so bad, being my 1st ever trip down the strip(ha)?I run 275/35/18s BFG kdws.I was gonna drop to some Torqs in a 17".That way I maybe could go 295/40/17.I just want more tire, less rim.
What do you think?

Thats daily driven....I plan to get a set for the rear, somethin that will have MTs
mounted on them.Just for the track.

MTs will lower your 60' by a ton. Just don't go with a pure slick for the track, otherwise you may have problems with the rear.

Roger...echo...niner on the Fbody 7.5/10 bolt

I should be posting my happiness of owning a Moser 9" soon.9 days to go by my budget.

I ran a really crappy time for my car at the track.....13.9@100 w/2.2 60'
My car is lid, catback, well maintained, never tuned,3.23 geared auto. There were alot of other faster cars running way off their times(6-9 tenths and 3-5 mph slower)Im looking at every factor, hence the thread here.I got pulled off the line by a 335i and that wouldnt happen on the street.

The current combo has went a 1.26 w/ 325 MT drag radials

I had 1.78 sixty foot on bald comp TA's. I had a 2500 stall and front sway bar removed. After that run, I had a 1.80 sixty foot to back it up. Thats when I finally hit 12's with my LT1.

I pulled a 1.829 60' with 275/40/17 BFG KDs. That was when I had 404rwhp. With street radials your goal should be anything under a 2.0. With 255/50/16 Mickey Thompsons on stock Z28 wheels I get consistent 1.65s with 423 rwhp. This is in a 6 speed.

1.9 was my best on street tires, 1.7 on M/Ts i still think i could have done better then that but i left about half the rear end on the strip the second pass on the M/Ts. i havnt been back with the M/Ts yet!

I have managed to cut a personal best of 1.9 once on KDWS street tires. I have also cut several 2.0 60's on the same tires. Never let any air out, just ran exactly as it was when I pulled in off the street.
