Anyone with ground effects and big slicks
I am wondering whats the biggest tire i can get on there. Since they attach to the wheel well you cant really cut that part at the bottom so is there any way bigger tires can be made to fit.

You would defiently run into problems w/a 28..
Also putting skinnies on the front would make the front end really low...my procharger air damns and the regular one are about 3"'s off the ground w/the skinnies on...
You could fit a 27" on there possibly, I would test fit though...

I tried to put 28s on my 2000 Z28 with the factory "sport appearance" ground effects, and it bolted up in there, but it was rubbing on the back bumper, and only about 1/8" to 1/4" away from the front ground effect piece. I think you'll have a hard time fitting them with effects, even if you tie the ground effect back with a wire tie, you would still have only 1/4" or so of clearance, not enough with a slick or ET Street, IMO.

I would just try some 27" Hoosiers and see if they rub, unless you want to cut your ground effects. I will say that cut ground effects might be kind of noticeable.

I guess i am going to try it and see if they fit. If not i will be looking to trade for some 27s. Spanky, my car is going through a Th 400 swap and i am trying to buy a truck also so it will be down for awhile. Hoping for a new job soon, so if everything goes as planned it will be ready by mid june or little after.

a picture of a camaro with ground effects and big slicks would be cool also. Maybe a close up of the back wheel so i can see clearances and all.

Minty had that setup.
Put it to you this way, with the big 28's, like 28x10.5x15 slicks, NOT the 28x9x15 ET Drags, the big ones will probably require some trimming of your rear bumper. And your ground effects are even wider than that. No way it's gonna fit.

Yo, I did have that setup. Ran with it all last summer. There are some issues like the ground effect piece in the rear needs to be cut a little no matter what. You need to check the spacing on the inside of the tire wheel well area because that part rubs a little and its hard to see. You always have to make sure to check tire pressure and not over inflate so it doesnt mess up your bumper cover or the tire itself. Also, you are going to need to do both quarter panels, they both need to be bent in in my case because as the car would go on bumps the tires would scratch the top.

Sounds like something i may beable to do. Also i was wondering the difference the different rear ends make. I think its the 12 bolt that makes the back sit up 2 inches more or maybe its the 9 inch. Could this help on clearance because i will be looking for a new rearend for my car also.

Will the 28x9's clear with a body kit? The height is 27.3 and that's what I'm planning on running because of the clearance issues.

I know that the ground effects connect in the back at the wheel well but arent there also connections all along the bottom of the cars body. If so can you get away with taking those out and having it connected to the other spots and not the two connections in the well.

A 9" will make the car sit up higher in back, so much so I removed my spring cushions.
I ran 28x9x15's a while back and they fit pretty good, that's why I was suggesting 27" hoosier dot's. I have seen the 27's on bos' car and they have a lot of room.
