Default [Houston] Need drinking locations 4 21st birthday

I'm planning on hitting up downtown Houston for my 21st next weekend. It's been a while since I've been down that way. Does anyone have any suggestions for bars that treat you really well for your birthday and/or a location with many close together? I think there's some on Main Street and Westheimer (not sure what part of WH though). I'm probably going to have about 10 friends with me, and I don't plan on getting sloppy drunk because I have to fly home and go to work the day after. I don't really want a club atmosphere where I can't talk to the people next to me, but clubs with no cover and bars are ideal. Details about why you like them, etc.

Also, I may go out on Friday night at midnight (my official birthday is Saturday); have people had any problems getting served anywhere @12:01am on their birthday?

Thanks, and this symbol has more meaning now than ever~

Go to midtown. Gray and Bagby area. There is Red Door, Tipsy Clover, Doghouse tavern, Little Woodrows, Front porch. You will have a really good time.

I'd just hang around Flying Saucer on Main and Capitol ... I've heard they treat you really well for a birthday

Speakin of bars though, we're headin out to northgate tonight, I'll call you tomorrow

Ya, though I'm looking forward to exploring the wonders of 6th street, I'm not going to be able to drive out to ATX, and I have a few friends that wouldn't come if I did

I'd head out to rice village, lots of cool places and the people are cool. Midtown is a bunch of stuck up yuppies and gold-diggin bitches. Downtown is just ghetto.

It definitely isn't the same crowd, you must not get out a lot. Rice village is a lot more chill, and sure there are stuck up people there just like everywhere. Midtown is 99.9% yuppie and stuck up girls. So if you like that kind of crowd then go to midtown.

Midtown is much better than Rice Village. Sounds like you are a little jealous that the "gold-digging" (hot) bitches don't go home with you

Not jealous at all, they call me tow truck for a reason. It's the dousche bag guys more than anything. Rice village is just a more laid back crowd, you can strike a conversation with anybody.

To be honest I've brought more girls home from midtown vs. rice village but I still prefer the overall crowd @ rice village.
