I'd say at least 10-20hp. Magnaflow has dyno #'s for their system and I think they advertise something like 18hp gain. The LM outflows the magnaflow so you can assume you'd gain at least that much. I'm not suggesting you'd gain anything more with the LM over the magnaflow either.....even if the system does flow more. Just using it as a frame of reference.

Around 10-15hp with a tune would be my guess. Most people don't dyno tune after just a catback however, but you should be able to find some graphs on the internet. Perhaps GM High-Tech Performance. Install longtube headers for 20-30hp gain with tuning.

Magnaflows site says 13.8 HP And like 17.7 TQ. That's probably with a tune too. I think people do it more for the sound and for the 1st step in the exhaust field.

Call me retarded, but i think i just realized why it's called CAT-BACK.

I think SLP says a 25hp gain, but what they don't tell you is that is probably with a tune and supporting mods. I would say about 10-15hp extra. I know first hand like so many other's on here that the catback coupled with the lid is a noticeable difference.

i put a magnaflow c\b on my car friday it has a deep rumble but is not likely to attract unwanted attention from law enforcement. when the electric cut out i ordered gets here i will have some real good flow with an adjustable noise level. thats what i'm doing.
but hey i'm just throwing stuff out there. everytime i talk to a cop he wants multiple autorgaphs

could it be the tune that's giving it another 5hp or so? since the factory tune would be set to run safe but a hiperf shop's tune would lean it out more for better power.

ie. if you tune it first, it would gain 5hp and then you add on the catback and retune it, you'll only get the true 10hp or so.

not saying that anyone would go through the trouble and expenses of doing this....but just to question the claims of some of these manufacturers.

Manufacturer claims are overrated. Mufflers are not the truly restricitve area in the stock exhaust system. Manifolds and the lack of a true dual setup are the power-robbing culprits.

HP gains are probably 5hp or so. No big deal. Choose the exhaust sound you want, ignore any advertised gains. If you want power, get headers.

Get headers first then mufflers
You see more gains in hp in headers

Pacesetters headers with y pipe $600 gain 15-20 hp
SLP Mufflers $450 FOR A gain of 5 hp
