LT's, metallic cats, Powersticks...too loud?
I am about to install Hooker LT's with metallic spun highflow 2.5" cats built into a custom true dual x pipe system, followed by 2.5" pipes over the axle into a medium length powerstick muffler on each side.
Will this be obnoxiously loud or will I be able to live with it?

No, it will be pretty tame actually.
I have 3" magnaflow metallic cats, 3" x-pipe, and short powerpack mufflers dumping at the axle. With that as your main mods, the car will be sorta loud but nothing like the obnoxious rasp of a catless y-pipe like the setup on my last car. Once I upped my compression and put in a cam with a lot of overlap, my idle is loud as all hell now, but once I start moving it's not insanely loud unless I punch it and then it screams.

Weren't you talking about fabbing a catback out of the powersticks? I was playing with the idea also but ended up going back to the TDs

I'm glad most of you like this setup....I'm pretty freakin excited about it. I just hope it doesn't turn out stupid loud or not fitting right, I really don't wanna have to change the setup again.

Similar setup here, XS headers and a catted y-pipe through a single 3" medium powerstick. I wish I was true-duels but it is definately loud. I love the WOT sound and idle for sure but part throttle is somewhat less pretty. I am sure that two powerpacks would be better for part throttle, either in a true-dual or one after the y-pipe and one at the back somewhere. But to the OP, I think your setup would be pretty awesome.

I think the X pipe is easier, however, I have heard that H pipes sound a lil bit better. I am going X pipe, because I have one left over from the custom setup I tried to do with my 5.0 Stang

H pipes are def more torquey and noticeable deeper.. like the big blocks of the good ole days.. hehe
I chose an H over X since i'd had an x previously in my other duals setups...
and I'm sorry i hadn't gone with one the first time.
either way it'll sound nice
- cheers

Ultimate setup: 3" Med. Powerstick in the intermediate pipe, & two short 2.5" Powersticks running transverse at the rear - like the GMMG setups. Turn them around & run OVER the louvers instead of into them & they sound different & still work. (A Cobra Kit guy tried them like this & loved them).
Hey, this is NOT a plug!!! Don't flame me or I'll stop making them & go far away!
