How goes it everyone?
Obviously I'm new and I'm a girl. My boyfriend has been on this site for a while and thought I'd join myself since I figure he can't help me with EVERYTHING that has to do with my car. I drive a Pewter v6 Camaro (I know it's kinda lame.) and I really want to do SOMETHING to it until I can get an ls1 but don't know what. I still have a lot to learn about my car and any help with that would be greatly appreciated!

Put a system in it and clean the car up, anything performance wise is in theory a waste if you already plan on upgrading to an LS1. Have something nice to ride around in for the time being that clean and sounds good, that would be my recommendation.
And Welcome to LS1tech!

Oh mine had a slipping tranny and was a 3.4
I drove it til it exploded. Now I miss it...though it's out in the driveway behind my Z28.
And neither one works properly

really? I blew the radiator and something else in my '95 (it was a total POS), somehow got it running and traded it in for the '01. I miss it, mostly because it was red, but i like my new one... and my dad's car is a whole different story lol. I'm supposed to be driving it but it's an M6 and it pisses me off lol, and it's in really, REALLY bad shape right now. (it smells REALLY bad in there! )

the late 3.8s are very good motors. if you have the performance package, they can be just as, if not faster then the old 305s from the 80s and early 90s. theres plenty you can do to it, enough to slap the grin off a ricers face. CAI, gears, shifters, intake, plug/wires, pulleys. almost anything you can do to an LS1, you can do to your V6. if you find the parts, that is. theres another forum for the V6s, im not sure of the name. someone else will post it soon enough. fullthrotleV6.com maybe?

Turbo is another option, but unlike the LS1, there's like no one making kits for this thing, so go that route and you' re basically on your own. Strange considering how much the 3.8 likes boost and how easy it is for the uninitiated to make LS1 grenades going the FI route (not to say there haven't been quite a few 3.8 grenades, cause there have been)
The best bang for the buck as far as power goes is a Head/cam swap, which should run about 2k - more if a shop does the swap. there are good gains to be had there, but go too far and race car fragility and an idle exhaust note straight from an harley v-twin will be your reward. Oh and hi.
It's always cool to meet a girl who's into F-bodies.
Now, if only I could do that IRL...
