Default ProCharger issue...

I have a 1997 LT1 Camaro, and I am wanting to swap out the LT1 and put an LS1 in it. I was wondering if there are conversion brackets that can accommadate my D1S-C on to the LS1 motor. I really don't want to sell it, even though it is brand new in box, I would rather see what my options are before I do have to go to that extreme..

You would be better off to sell your kit, and purchase the LS1 ATI ProCharger system. Everything is different with the kit, including the intercoolers. Bob

Your LT1 blower is standard rotation and the LS1 is reverse, so you wouldn't be able to use the blower on your LS car anyways.

Your LT1 blower is also suitable (internally clocked) for a 5.3/6.0 Chevy truck and a '94-'95 Mustang if you decide to sell it.

Thats what I was thinking. The cost gets pretty high when you do the conversion. Once done you'd probably be thinking you should of sold the car and moved into an LS1 F Body to start with. There are a lot of fast LT1 cars out there with ATI ProChargers. A big part of making power with the LT1 engine is in getting a great set of heads for it. Bob

ok, well- the only thing reason that I wanted to go to an LS1 is because they have more power to start out with and also I didn't want to deal with the optispark. I know people will say that you can replace them with different sytems and what not, but I know nothing about wiring these things up. I guess thats really the main reason why I wanted to go LS1..
