Hooker Cat-Back
I have Pacesetters with theire or/y and a Borla Cat-Back right now and I'm sick of the sound. I've read alot about the Hooker having no rasp with this set up? Can anybody vouch for this? Also has anybody seen the cheapest place to pick up the Hooker lately? Thanks guys

i have a hooker catback with an off road y and long tubes and i can vouch that it sounds much better than my buddies car with the borla catback, it is much quieter and doesnt have that raspy rattle above 3500rpm. i just bought the muffler from jegs for $85 and had it welded in by my local exhaust shop

Think I may be going this route shortly! What does everyone seem to like for the catted Y set-ups? Just weighin' out my options..Thanks for for the replys guys!

I have a hooker catback. I had it with stock manifolds and it sounded good. Now I put american racing headers on it with a catted Y. It sounds unbelievable. It is deep and not raspy at all. It is quiet below 2K rpm. You cant hear it running in 6th gear on the highway but downshift it and it becomes a whole new animal. I would recommend it for sure.

Well, I'm going to have to be different... Sorry... . I had the Hooker for a while (about a year) and I had to get rid of it because I couldn't stand the rasp... It was horrible with mine for some reason. Everyone told me it wouldn't have any either, and that's why I bought mine. Now I have duals and it's a lot better, but i still have some actually with my flowmaster 1-chambers. I could be different for you though if you have a borla now and it's less raspy than the Hooker. Everybody has a different opinion on how bad rasp really is, and I personally thought the Hooker was way too bad for me... I was almost embarrassed when i would go at about 50% throttle. It had LOUD rasp o_O.

i really like my hooker catback and it is extremely free flowing as well. there is alittle rasp around 2k or so (can't remember exactly where it is) but not bad at all on mine and is pretty quiet even on the 408.

I've had mine now for about 3 weeks and can't wait to hear it when i get headers and a y. Right now it's too quite for me. Can tell a slight difference at idle and through the rpms. I do like the deepness of it.

0 rasp, quiet but noticeable at idle, able to hear cd player while cruising, perfect at WOT. IMO the best sounding catback I've heard. Also mine has a closer sound to a Mustang with flowmasters than any other exhaust I've heard on an LS1.

for those of you still iwhtout longtubes that have the hooker, if you like it now, youre going to love it with longtubes and ory.. it sounds completely different.. Im considering switching though, we'll see how i sounds once i get a cam in it.. i think i need some more volume.. i heard some mti cam on a 112 with borla and tsp catted y and it was nasty..

i don't think the hooker is a lot quiter than the borla, it does sound better with no rasp. i can deal with my borla because my car is an m6 but my g/f ta is an auto and is terrible!!! she is getting a hooker CB when she gets the money or when my ear gets tired of her mouth. i was actually thinking of going with a 4 inch mufflex but it's so damn ugly looking
