Change the serpentine belt too. They can harden after sitting a long time and crack once you drive it regularly. It's cheap. And toplessHO is right, I would be concerned about the coolant.

Don't forget the fuel filter. The element inside can break down over time(especially sitting) and you don't need your fuel system clogged up with debris. Changing fluids is really all you need to do, mostly for 'peace of mind' and getting a fresh start. If the car was garage-kept I wouldn't worry about anything else. If left outside in some tough weather conditions then maybe think about hoses, belts, etc.. My '01 sits a lot (less than 9,000 miles) and everything is perfect under the hood, but it is garage kept and the temp has never been under 40 degrees.

Great input guys. I had thought of most of those aside from the coolant. Being that it's Saturday I may have no choice but to take it to a dealer about 5 miles away. I'll be in New Jersey and I don't know any shops up there.

It was garaged quite a bit. I will be taking a real good look at it before I drive off of course.

Thanks again!!!

As long as it has been ran and heat cycled regularly, it should be ok, but you can't be too sure.

Fuel Injection cleaner as well.

Found out yesterday that he's having the oil changed at least, but I'll still change that to get some Mobil 1 in it.

I'll throw some injector cleaner in there and then yank the filter to make sure I get everything out. Plugs and wires after that. Should have pics up by the end of the day.
Thanks again guys.

Nice man, congrat's. Red always looks good on a WS6. Pretty cheap too- thats a good deal for the mileage/year, now you have more money for mods.....something of which you will be adding quite regularly on this site- as you already have started. Good purchase!

Inspect the tires carefully. Check carefully on both sides for weatherchecking. That few miles and that long with full pressure and no driving can do nasty things to an otherwise perfect condition tire, depending on storage conditions. Also be alert for any strange movement in the wheel. I've had two "stored tires" throw belts on me after a few thousand, for whatever reason. And don't forget to check the spare, just in case.

Also wouldn't hurt to toss one of those two ounce cans of conditioner in your AC before cranking it up. The various system seals are probably dry as the Mojave desert.

Good advice. I hadn't thought of the AC. I'll do it this afternoon.

MOds so far....

Viper alarm
tinted 35%
CORSA on order
SIlverstar fogs and turns signals

Not bad for having it three days!!!

Just make sure you gauge it first to make sure you aren't overfilling... Those hoses without gauges aren't a great idea.
