Default LQ9 & LS2 Help!

Other than an iron block, different intake, & TB. Are there any differences in these two 6.0L engines? Do they have the same style heads. There is about a $2,000.00 difference in the price from the dealer that would go a long way towards some other supporting mods I want for a project I have going. Thanks in advance for any information you can give me...

What is your project? It makes a difference which one would be best. I also heard the LQ9 has been discontinued by GM and is no longer available. You might not have the option. See this thread;

My project is the 92 Camaro here www.fquick.com/Kingsize I really don't care about the weight as it has already undergone a diet. I am just trying to figure out if the extra $2,000.00 is worth it sence I am going to put on a different intake and headers anyway, or if there is a significant loss in power due to the heads. I am assuming the intake and TB is what is chokeing the power off on the LQ9. I will find out about the LQ9 next week and see if it is discontinued or not. Tons of different dealers I called gave me the prices I was looking for so I would hope they would know if they could get them or not.

They are different engines.
LQ9 is Gen 3, LS2 is Gen 4.
Different crank & cam sensors, different heads, different compression ratio, different cam, different intake, different injectors.

I wouldn't buy this stuff from a dealer either. Check out scroggins dicky, they have pretty good deals on motors and can put something together that fits your application.
