No it is not normal. I would install a wide band air/fuel gauge and you want the mixture at 11.5/1 in the upper rpm band under wide open throttle. Bob

I had a little stutter in my ign system a few weeks back and shot a huge ball of fire out the side of the car, from what I understand it was 4-5ft wide

fwiw he(previous owner) probably had it dyno tuned....you do NOT want to just run a power programmer on it...if anything you need to take it to a dyno and have someone tune it for you...

my car isnt no ls1, but at night when im WOT, mine shoots out flames right before my shift too everytime....I was doing a run the other night with my friend and my other friend was behind us watching and he said everytime my car went to go shift, flames would come out the exhaust....I dunno why, my car runs real good and my afr is right at 11.4 when im WOT under boost.

Mines also at 15* of timing advancement, on 10psi with No NR

Small exhaust leaks can cause this to happen.

wouldnt mind if mine shot flames. In fact, i hope it does. As long as it isnt a sign of a problem.
