Default Cruise Control HELP!!!

I think it might be the Vehicle Speed Sensor. I checked it with a volt meter and got no readings. My mechanic/Transmision guy said he didn't think it could be my sensor because the speedometer is still working. Any Ideas Please....

Thats the smartest thing I've herd all day. If I knew what was wrong I wouldn't be asking, and if by the Title it's not clear enough I appoligize. Now if your some kind of expert on this ask me some questions that you need to know to help me diagnose this.

I mean...is the cruise control not working at all? i dont think "cruise control help" tells much of anything about whats wrong. Have you checked the cruise control fuse?

Your right maybe I should have been more specific but yes I have tried the fuse and it is good. They way it started was every now and then it just wouldn't work and it got worse and worse until one day it just stopped working.

Well I picked up a Vehicle speed sensor at the parts store today and while I was there I asked the guy about the box on the driver side frame and he said what goes out on those is the plastic casing melts and somehow messes with the wireharness in there.
