Default Some turbo projects might actually end...

I think mine has FINALLY ended...

Got a call from Kyle at Revxtreme that the new motor's done... I was going to go pick up the car, but he insisted on trailering it down from Tampa for me... Good people!

Anyhow, for those behind on my turbo woes... Last year, I decided to build up my 346 and bought a recently assembled motor from a user here that was selling... It was advertised well, sold for a good price, and the seller has an excellent rep. However, nobody could predict a defective part, in my case a ring, and I learned not to buy from a private seller again because there is no warranty!!! Advice on assembled motors: Buy from a big-name shop ALWAYS. In December 2006, the car was running strong broken in 500 miles just fine. Then during the dyno tune, a ring takes a ****, oil gets in the comb. chamber, and a piston sends a piece of itself flying through the motor. The piece fucked up bearings, scarred the crank, it was a nightmare. The shop helped me with this greatly, but all this stuff takes time. Let's fast forward to today:

Car's making 610 rwhp at 14/15 psi on pump, tuned very safely... I'll find out more tomorrow when I get it, but I wanted to share this good news for those of you interested in 346 build-ups.

Nice list! Now enjoy it and get your moneys worth! Once you have it back, snap a ton of pics and upload them and maybe some video footage if you have the opportunity

Thanks fellas!

ddnspider: They're getting here 'round 5 pm today... It's two right now and they left Tampa... I'll ask all about the tune and the IAT's, but honestly I'm not worried at all. The set-up I had before was stock bottom end and a T-70 @ 7 psi, and I never had a problem with the intake charge temps... Now, I'm running more boost, but I am also running methanol injection to help things out. Additionally, there isn't any more IC there!!! The IC is designed to fit between the foglights of an F-body, so even if I removed the foglights, there'd be no IC there where the foglights were

NA$TY-TA: I'm hoping this new set-up doesn't change from how it ran before... Radiator is in the stock location and not blocked by the FMIC, so it will get plenty of air from the air damn. The only thing that should introduce more "Heat" now is a bigger turbo + more boost... I'm hoping a better turbo blanket will take care of this. I bought one of the upgraded ones from Forced Inductions, and it looks like a quality piece.

Awesome is 5pm now, hopefully its already in your hands. I remember asking you all the time about your car, and it was never anything good. Now finally some great news, can't wait to see the beast at the next SSP meet.
