Which Twin Turbo kit to buy for an F-Body? APS or Gen TT?
I feel bad pitting the two against each other, but I myself have to make a decision as to which kit to buy for my own Z28. I think both companies have a great level of craftsmanship and both seem to make great power. Is there anyone that can give me pros and cons of both systems? Or what do you guys think so far? Maybe its still too early in the game to make opinions, or maybe not. All i know is that i like what i see from both companies. I think its great that both gave us LS1 4th gens the opportunity to buy a twin turbo system.

But Superior why? I mean in all fairness, its easy to be a fan of one company and a critic of another. I mean things can come into play here. The time it takes for the company to build it, free shipping, the cost of the setup, the numbers the system made on F-bodies. Anyone have any reasons about one system vs. the other?

Regardless of cost, shipping, time, etc I think the APS system is superior in design, which is what would be most important to me.
Comparatively speaking, manifolds which place the turbos in a location which allows gravity draining, no tubing running under the k-member (ground clearance), and external wastegates are 3 important elements that stand out in my mind.

Ditto, and those three criteria are precisely why I chose the APS kit for my car. As low as my car sits, the Gen-TT kit would have given me built-in jackstands. I can't even run over a soda can in the street without hitting it

The only upgrades I would like to see on the APS (which can be added very easily) would be different BOV's and T-Bolt Clamps.
The not so easily changed part is bigger Garrett based turbos.

if the Gen TT can make 1k rwhp, why cant the APS kit not make 1k? im sure that the APS kit can support that, im not really going to push the 1k limit, so either would work amazing for me. but i LOVE the way the APS kit looks, really professional like the car was built with the twins on

To make 1k rwhp with the APS kit, in theory, you would need at least a 61mm Garrett based/Precision turbo. Also adequate fuel and octane supply with a great tune. A BB 61-63mm turbo from the mentioned brands will support roughly 550-650 fwhp a piece. Another key element is running a great exhaust system. Whether thats cats and a y-pipe with electric cutouts before the cats or a true dual setup with small free flowing mufflers. On our twin kit, cutouts (precats) comes standard and makes a huge difference past the 650 rwhp mark.
I think the best thing (which some people will call me crazy for) is the incredible balance of the kit. Piping diameters and lengths are really impressive when looking at the cast manifold runners and the piping. One tubro isnt pushing the same amount of air through more piping which allows for an incredibly balanced system.
Also, this has nothing to do with performance, the piping running through the K-Member as opposed to underneath is a HUGE selling point for me because I like my car slammed.

I like the look of this kit. Looks really well built. How much does the APS kit cost and how does it compare to an equally nice kit such as the speed inc twin kit?

The ohio boys are two guys who make kits of their own to race.
