Default i think i messed up

i was told that jesse james once hollowed out a muffler and it sounded great. i didnt think that the center exhaust on a camaro was rare or expensive, so i cut it open and removed all the fiber glass and tubes and then reweiled the muffler closed it sounds great almost as good as the loudmouth, but then i was wondering if this would affect my performance because the gases have no route to follow, but it runs good and sounds good.

Wait, you welded the muffler completely closed? As in there's no longer an exit?

It wouldn't sound too good if there was no route to come out, the car would stall too.

He must have ment after cutting the muffler open to remove the insides he welded it back together.

When I first read it, I imagined the same thing as you.

I don`t think you messed up anything .....

if it sounds good to you then its alright and you sure gained hp and tq all over over a stock choking muffler....stock mufflers are cheap used .... don`t know about new ones .... wish I can use a free`er flowing muffler or a stock hollow one without tickets here ... ( an electric cut-out is a blessing ) and sounds really loud .... oh I might post the vid I did today with full throttle closed and open it was good! but didn`t see the vid that my friend shot.

thanks for reading, i did leave the exits of the muffler the same. i just installed the shorty edelbrock header today and it has alittle more take off then before and has alittle more rumble to the sound.
