Local news and Hurricane Like Weather I just have to rant and say that I've lived in florida my whole life and it seems that the local central florida news is blowing weather way out of proportion. I'm just fed up with all of this hurricane and tropical storm bullshit warnings and the news just makes it more aggravating to hear about it. It seems like every station is just trying to out due the next and I'm getting damn tired of hearing about it all. Yes buy more food and water and maybe a few sheets of wood and your good but damn I get the freakin point already. Just wanted to see if anyone else has reached this point. Sorry if I sound like a jackass i'm just tired of hearing about these little rain storms that get blown way out of proportion.

yea they go alittle overboard.but better to be safe then sorry.ive been wanting too see a hurricane since i moved here from the north east in 2000.but after jeanne,frances and wilma hit dead center here i can live without them!

I've been here since January of 2006 and haven't seen **** yet. I dont wish death and destruction on anyone but, I'm anxious to see the idiots come into full swing when something does stir up. I love seeing all the commotion and crazy **** that goes on with unprepared & uninformed people.

Haha i just have to laugh at all of it cause I've been here my whole life and you can't predict **** about florida weather unless you can predict for no more than 15 minutes later....I just think the media should stop blowing things out of proportion cause it's the same damn thing over and over and over again....

I don't watch the news that often usually just read the paper when I get a chance, but it is ridiculous how badly the news wants a hurricane to happen. I mean I switched on the weather channel the other day and there was a hurricane in the pacific like a couple hundred miles away from hawaii and they were going crazy.

the storms coming straight for central florida.. and nasa pushed the big red button and BAM it hits NC.. its BS but its kinda interesting how when the shuttle programs in full swing central fl gets spared but after columbia when the shuttle program was on hold.. we get nailed.. now the programs back and nothing yet..

My favorite part is watching the idiot reporters right in the middle of it all that makes me laugh especially when they loose their ponchos, and are trying to "describe" how bad the weather is haha...

the media is bs.they are supported by the big retailers like home depot , lowes & pubix to over exaggerate the storm so the public runs out and empties the store shelves. this thing is 1500 miles away and panic is already setting in. better fill er up gas is going to 4.00 a gal
