I used one gallon of toluene and a small amount of two cycle oil mix to eight gallons of gas. The two stroke oil would be the same amount normally mixed with one gallon of gas. My question is would the toluene or the two stroke oil cause my car to run rich at the drags? A friend could see black smoke comming from the rear of the car in the top 1/2 of first and some in second. I have no available computer tuning device. Has anyone used this much toluene? Any educated thoughts?

I can tell you what it WILL do.... IT will kill your 02's. any use of after market octane boosters or fuel additives WILL cook you 02 in short order time....

I have used 5 gallons to 1 tank. They say you are supposed to mix 4:1 (gas:tolulene)

Tolulene won't kill O2's-it is already in pump gas. I have mixed it anywhere from 4:1 up to 10:1 for over a year now in my truck and in my 12.5 compression Buick, with no probs so far. Try mixing in some xylene too and use ATF instead of 2 cycle oil. Or you can run the Torco concentrate that works good too.

Thank You for the information. One other question: does anyone have any idea why I would be smoking dark grey out the exhaust in first and second at the drags.

Stop using the two cyle oil, you don't need it. You're just introducing oil into your combustion, that you don't need.

Thank you for the article. It would seem there could possibly be more problems than meet the eye. Even though I have been able to get toluene very cheep, $3.00 a gallon, I think I will switch to race gas.
