Could it be a bad ground?

Did this just start happening or were you working on something else on the motor. Define turns over and cranks, they generally mean the same thing but you may be referring to something different.

Do you hear the fuel pump prime?

The pump primes and the car cranks sometimes and mifires. I found that the brown braided ground and another ground with it where loose on the frame. Could that cause it?

The car just backfires and is flooding badly. The plugs are solid black.
