I am reading up on people putting the WS6 store short stick in their cars and have read quite a few that are talking about it hitting the console in 2-4-6. How do I know what shifter I have? I thought STD had the 1-R pattern on the factory **** and hurst had the "H"? This is what confuses me, I bought my car from the orginal owner and he said he said he never changed a thing with the trans or shifter but my **** says "SLP" What factory shifter do I have?

Well its an SLP **** at least. I cant tell what shifter it is though.

Well I could of told you that much! If I pull the rubber boot will it say Hurst or AC Delco on the shifter base?

I'm just curious because everyone with a stock NonHurst shifter says it hits, everyone with a stock Hurst says it doesn't.

My stock non-hurst didnt hit anything. Pull the boot and take a pic, that will help the most.

If your car is a non-ws6 then it came with a plain old crappy stock shifter. Now if the previous owner replaced it it may be different now.

Nope, just a plain ol' Trans Am..... Do you have the WS6 store 6"? 6 1/2" TNAMotorsports short stick? Stock ****? Sorry for so many questions, I just don't want to destroy my console over a $25 shifter, ya know?

the standard shifter and the hurst units both came with the same stick.
its the base that is different.

the standard will have a thin stamped steel base plate, where the 4 mounting bolts are.

the hurst has a 1/4" thick billet piece of steel as a mounting plate.

and i'm not aware of any regular TAs that got the upgrade...just certain WS6 and firehawks

Then why do so many Z28 guys came to have it? Are they just talking out their *** or did alot of Z28's come with the Hurst stock?

just buy a Pro 5.0 then throw whatever handle u have on it
