LPE intake or K&N
Well my friend picked up an '06 goat last year, and is looking to do an intake. Since they are similarly priced I was wondering what your opinions were on the LPE intake vs. the K&N. I have a LPE on my Z and love it, but its a completely different vehicle so I wanted to see if anyone had any concerns about either in function, fit&finish, or if either of the 2 had special features, (I have heard the LPE has a better heat shield) Thanks for your feedback!

Both are fine, I have one from www.hardcoreintake.com. It moves the filter under the car infront of the drivers wheel well. More cold air down there. Ran one my Grand Am GT for 5yrs with no water issues.

Both would be fine, but if price isn't a problem there is a company out of Austraila that has one that changes it form a fender well kit to a lid like on the F-bodies. It has shown to make the best power for the LSx engines. It can be rather pricey though with it coming from Austraila and all. Here's a link of how it looks:

if its just between those two it would HAVE TO BE the LPE the heat shield it 10 times better if you look at the two the K N doesnt seal off as good as the LPE.
but if you can get the filter out of the engine bay that is the best!!!!

They'll both give you about the same performance. It's about preference to me. I have the K&N Cai on my '04 GTO. I love the sound it makes and it improved gas mileage and throttle response. I also like how it looks under the hood compared to the Lingenfelter. It compliments everything else very well.
