That is the MAP sensor, and the plugs dont look abnormal, just very old

Gap your tr55's at ~.035, make sure nothing is crossed, and you will be a happy camper

they were a bigger gap because the conductor is wearing down. You should gap them between .035 and .050

I bet my plugs are original, or damn close. So I'm excited to do them. Since my fuel filter made a big diff. I remember doing them in my old 94 Park Ave 3.8 and the gap tool (just a disc) didn't have a size to measure how gapped they were. It was horrible LOL The cat, removed it, and I got 60+ miles per tank since it was so clogged.

And yes, thats your MAP sensor.

Sounds familiar. For me it way #8. Plug boot just separated from the wire.

Be prepared for more - I went from plugs - to wires - then broke the opti nipple off when doing the coil wire.

Yeah plug access improves greatly with headers, LT's anyway. The OP's plugs look fine. You want to gap the plug at .050" for stock. I would think anything wider than that would have trouble sustaining the fire but some of you all disagree. The reason you go closer for nitrous/high compression/forced induction is so you don't blow the spark out.
