Default Bizzare - Steering linkage issue

Don't ask me how, or what the hell happened because I don't know.

We took my steering linkage off during my engine swap so i'd have more room. Well now when I go to hook it back up - it's to short. By about an inch maybe 2. Its the same peice that came off the car, same K frame and everything.

I know the bolt goes in and the linkage can slide up and down, but even with it all the way down, its to short.

Any ideas?

Wow that is extremely weird. Maybe you can get a hold of another one to compare it to to see if it's the linkage or something with the steering rack/k-member.

Be careful that you didn't turn that steering wheel at all. That ribbon in the steering wheel that is connected to the air bag sensor can break if you inadvertantly turned the steering wheel without you knowing it.

got it hooked up today. I managed to pry the extra length needed from the firewall shaft piece and readjust the steering rack itself. it had me totally stumped but resetting it did the trick.

thanks for the help guys
