stainless steel vs mild steel vs aluminized
Hey guys.. i have been trying to get my exhaust fixed for the past few months, and i have come across all these different types of piping: stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminized.
aluminized seems to be the most popular around where i live, as every exhaust shop uses it, so whats so good about it, if anything?
I know stainless doesn't rust, which is what i was pushing towards but it is a little more expensive...
i want to replace piping from my header collectors, back to my turbo. the first shop i took it to screwed it up pretty good
i have an SLP Y made from Stainless, so i was thinking of just doing all stainless... but will it eventually crack if i wrap it with heat wrap?
what are the pros/cons of the 3 types? thanks...

aluminized or coated mild
both are less expensive then stainless.
coated will despense heat as good or better then stainless.
The biggest bennifit to non stainless is the weight savings. Stainless is HEAVY!

stainless....
regular steel will eventually rot from the inside out...in regards to coating....most coatings I've ever seen eventually flake off...remember you are going to be dealing with high temp/pressure exhaust gas from the header to turbo...that'll wear it down over time
