Default 383 flywheel question?

I got a 383 Le2 h/c/i car that got back from ed's today. He mentioned that I had a slight vibration. I got my shortblock from speed inc. I put a normal lt1 flywheel in it is there a special flywheel for stroker lt1's? I think this is where my vibration is coming from. Oh the numbers where 436.9 horsepower and 407.2 torque through a 6 speed and 3.42 10 bolt. I had bad gas the new alt. died and I got a slight miss towards the end. I'm pretty happy.

The flywheel does need to be balanced with the rotating assembly. They do make internal and external balanced stroker cranks.could we get more info on your setup?Great #s BTW

I'm going to call speed inc tomarrow to find out some specs on their shortblocks. I've got the spec sheet but it's in oklahoma. It will be 2 weeks before I go home again. Would a tci balancer be a wise choice also? Right now I got a asp with 20% underdrive. The miss and alt will be fixed tomarrow I've got alot more compression then originally thought so I've got to figure out how to boost the octane rating without killing my o2 sensors. But this slight vibration worries me. Thanks SincalT/A for the help.

Well as far as octane boosting is concerned i will say torco but i am going out on a limb here.I know of plenty car that use torco boosted and n/a but,i have never tried it seems to work fine for them.If you do use torco remeber it will turn your plugs a funky orange color.Just curious do you know your compression off hand?LT1's are known to handle higher compression ie 12to1 on shitty pump gas like 91.I dont know if your tune will allow it either so somthing to consider also.

Well Ed tried like hell to tune the ping out but couldn't get all out. I had a small amount of bad gas in the tank and that caused alot of problems. I used the impala head gasket and speed inc never sent me the specs on my shortblock after I called several times. I think it is around 12 to 1. The tank gets dumped tomarrow and new gas in so we'll see what happens with clean gas in it.

Sounds like you are on the ragged edge may i reccomend ngk tr-6 or tr-7.also try getting your coolant temps as low as possible.Whats the gap on your plugs?

you're definitely going to need an internal balance flywheel. billet steel for better take offs, aluminum for higher speeds/roll racing.

Well speed inc said they internally balance their engines, well he said he was pretty sure they did, kinda funny. He told me to have the flywheel and clutch balanced. I've got a ram stage 4 in it and he said sometimes they are out of wack. I'm going to try it do you think a tci balancer would be a wise investment also? Right now I have a asp 20% underdrive on it.
