agreed! looks good though. u need stiffer springs well get you better traction and those springs you have are only stiff enough for stock height. when you cut it you will bottom out much easier.

i know what u mean about the car sitting lower and bottom out eaiser but i am getting stiffer shocks for it to stiffin it up. I know a few cars with this set up and are running good numbers with a good 60ft so im not worried. Havent got times yet, im still having issues with my tuner guy.

Can I get more info on the hood? Thinking of a pin on for my bird, how hard would it be to mount the stock hinges to it and just pin on the front? Car looks great by the way.

Cutting springs compromises the integrity of the spring. they are made to twist, stretch and squeeze according to their size. when you cut them it screws them up. Im just looking out for you, if you put a serious load on them from launching... they can and will break. I wouldnt want that to happen to your car

If I'm not mistaken that is a vfnfiberglass hood.

your talking about HEATING the springs with a torch. none of that stuff will happen if you cut the spring with a cutoff wheel. its perfectly safe.

Yea, i know heating a spring or cutting it with a torch is bad. I used a cut off wheel to cut the spring. Eaither way thats how they are and i like it better, and ill like it a lot more when i get better shocks back there.

Cutting a spring will not comprimise its strength if you use a cutoff wheel. None of the properties of the metal are altered to make it weaker or brittle like when you heat them.

You will change your spring rate and handling though, but a 1" cut out back isnt anything dangerous.

A lot of people have cut there springs to lower their cars and been just fine with it. Not as good as getting lowering springs but it can be ok for people on a budget.
