converted Z28 3rd brake light to LED
not sure if this has been done before, but i figured while i wait for my SS spoiler to get painted ill mess around a bit. The LED device that i bought came as a pair, so i have a spare in case anyone wants me to do theirs, just PM me.
I took pics to make a full how-to on it, but ill post the abbreviated version here.
and yes, that is a craftsman work bench IN MY BEDROOM.

naw this took me about 30 mins, of course im an electrical engineer so the testing and soldering part went fast. i used my dremel to cut out the old lights.
heres some pics of my soldering/heat shrink job...
i heat shrinked the wires separately before shrinking them together.

good work dude
I had to make a LED 3rd brake light for my cutlass, out of necessity. The old lamp housing crumbled apart (1980's plastics technology for ya), when I was changing the bulb, so instead of searching thru Ebay and local junkyards, it was easier to solder up a couple row's of LED's to a board and epoxy it to the inside of the brake light housing.
Not a big fan of it, cause my tail lights were only about half as bright as the 3rd, but it works.
