Default what lifters have you guys used with over 16# boost?

i just ordered a set of heads and am curious as to what you FI guys are doing for a good Hydraulic lifter.... i will probably change to a solid setup next winter (2008) but i dont need that yet.

this winter i will have added-

BS3
AFR -with additional mamo touch up
Kmember and A arms (probably burkhart with motor plates)
new piston- 5cc dish ~ 10.5 CR (rather than my 8:1 -34cc dish)
front strange brakes

if i cant run a 5.9x on my d1sc like Ol' KP i will be pissed...

then i will be forced to spray it .... i will add a double cross bar plate and spray the **** out of it until it burns a few pistons and then back it down a jet size or 2

Thanks,

Tyler

I always seem to strike out with lifters. They all suck and get sticky. I've tried the comp oem replacements...and the caddy lifters. I swear I think one of my caddy lifters is stuck now.

Stock lifters 20+ psi here and no problems. I'm also running 155 - 160 lb seat pressure.

Turbo Buick's are running upwards of 26 psi on stock hyraulic flat tappets.

I have the Morel Link bar style lifter going in my build. They are pretty expensive at $500 for a set.

I used the Comp R's with no problems.... had about 5K on them.
Switching to a set of Comps solid Lifters now.

Yes, that would be one example. We've also done a few 1,150+rwhp 6-speed cars that use the same lifters/springs.

Nope. Search the internal engine section (if the damn search is working) and you can find some good writeups about the caddy lifters from SDPC. I am probably gonna run LS7 lifters next because they are cheaper than the caddys....and it seems to be hit and miss with these damn things.

This may sound like a newb question, but how do you know how much seat pressure you need for a given setup??? How do you check it also???
