GAS....OMFG.... Are they joking.
So I dont get how the hell we are paying this much for gas..
I mean I get it.. they say hey you are paying this, and we do...
But come on.... All these oil companies, and gas companies reporting record billion dollar PROFITS.... Come on now... This is getting ridiculous...
The owners have their own has stations that still charge 1.25/gallon.
I am gonna park my car with these prices.. Jesus... Go and buy me a geo storm to drive, get some good gas mileage.....

I guess the government should force ExxonMobil and Chevron to use 100% of their profits to subsidize the price of oil so it is cheaper for you and me? If you agree with that, then a communist society might be a better fit for you. Move and tell me how much you like it there, but until then.. the US is a captialist society and every person here has the right to make as much money as they can.

You should check the prices of fuel over in Europe then you wouldn't be so quick to complain.
I found this on Google.
http://goeurope.about.com/gi/dynamic....html%23Diesel
The bottom green line is the average price that we pay. The upper lines are different European countries.

boo hoo. Some people pay $5 for a Starbucks coffee or $1 for a 12oz bottle of water....and still bitch about gas prices.
Lets do some math here. Lets say you average the "12K miles per year" common average. If your V8 car gets 24 mpg (low for an LS1) that means you used 500 gallons of gas that year. If gas goes up $0.20/gal that means you only spent $100 more for the year.
Even if it goes up $1.00 per gallon from now, that is only $500 for the year. Small price to pay to have a kick *** V8 car, in my opinion.
Furthermore, $100/year is basically 1.5 Starbucks coffees per month. Anyone that drinks more than one of anything for $5 each shouldn't complain about gas.

Reminds me of a comedian I saw a while back.
He said gas prices are too high and when he complains about it, some people will say, "well a gallon of milk cost more than a gallon of gas".
He replied, "Yeah, but I don't have to drink 35 gallons of ******* milk each week to go earn a paycheck".
I don't like the prices being so high, but I'm pretty sure most of us are making more money at our jobs because of it.

Of course the companies make big bucks. But the profits on each gallon of gas is in the pennies range. and yeah if you multiply a penny times billions/trillions however much gas we use, then yeah they still make good money. There are still cheap alternatives though. What I dont get is the whole hybrid buttfettish hippy jrkoffs. LIke it was mentioned, ok good for you, you just spent 30k(on the low side) for a hybrid to save you maybe $100-$200 in gas per year. and get like 40 mpg. Why not go with a small turbodiesel compact. They have been around for years and get upwards of 50-60 mpg(VW Jetta TDI) and you can get a nice later model used for less than $10k. I think the car manufacturers should just focus on small turbocharged diesel cars for eco cars instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. IMO

I think its funny how gas companies get pulled in on a gas price conversation when you don't get gasoline from natural gas.
The problem is that the US finally has competition for wasting energy (China) and we're paying for it.
