Speed Trap in SA

Speed Trap in SA
For those of you who travel on I-37 south frequently.... Ive noticed that the police have been setting up right past the hotwells exit headed south. A couple of cops will sit on the overpass with the radar and call their counterpart waiting a little up ahead to pull people over. Be carefull. They have been doing this a lot lately. Around 12pm-3pm is the times that i have been seeing them.

Thanks, I'll try to remember that when I go down there.
I have kin all over S. Tx. One memorable day about 10 years ago we were heading to Cibolo to see some kinfolks, I was driving my dads new conversion / pimp daddy van. We had driven in from Austin where he lives. He is in the back, my wife is riding shotgun and is asleep. Dad and I are B/S'ing as I come into town, we took the scenic route not I-35.
I come off of a blacktop road onto a gravel road, am driving a reasonable and prudent speed... keep in mind it is a big *** conversion van with red tags... and I look in the mirrors to see a squad car fishtailing behind me. I said oh man this cops is in a big *** hurry so I get out of the way... pulled into a grade school parking lot. The cop follows me.
I forget her name but boy was she a BITCH! It was like 10:30 a.m. on a weekday, me, my wife and my senior citizen dad are easing through town and get hammered by their finest. I'll never forget it... 36 in a 30. Yep, got me for speeding in the pimp mobile!
My Aunt whom we were going to visit worked in the Sheriffs office, my cousin was the local PD dispatcher during the day. They knew all about it before I got to their house and were laughing saying I'll never get out of it I'm screwed.
I put my attorney on it. And about 2 1/2 yrs later they dropped it. Cost me like $250.00 bucks in attornies fees. He had fun with it.
Nowadays it is an old family joke.... "Ya'll aren't gonna let Gilbert drive ya'll in are ya?" is what I get when we come to town.
Kinda long, but I thought I would share that with you guys.

They were running radar inside the barriers where they are doing construction on 410 near the Bandera exit. 4 cop cars all waiting at the bottom of the hill, I would of been pulled over if I wasn't exiting there. Ive seen it twice on 410 in different areas and now with the addition of unmarked Tahoe's, Charger's, and Impala's, you can't just look out for Crown Vics anymore http://www.ksat.com/news/14423606/detail.html

Most likely due to the price and fleet deal. Its like not seeing a 300 vs. the Charger. A stripper B4C is cheaper than any Trans Am could be. Still I would of liked to see a couple state trooper WS6's roaming around.

A long time ago (this was a comical thing to see for obvious reasons) I was coming over an overpass going south on I 45 where the old Best Buy used to be by Greenspoint. There was this Suzuki Tracker police car waiting to catch a fasty flying by. I said to myself, how is this 4 or '3'? cylinder 0 to 60 in 17 second thing going to even get near a speed that someone coming by over 60 mphs to begin with? Later on I was thinking maybe this was one of those confiscated vehicles that someone wanted by chance to turn into their personal police cruiser??? I think that would be a chance to see a WS6 cruiser (confiscated by drug raid, illegal contraband etc).

just so you know, in addition to the tahoes, impalas, chargers, and etc. beware of regular silverados. they are unmarked like the crown vics. they have a small rail of lights on the back window. pulled up to to quick but didnt get pulled over. but yeah this is the time where they are trying to pull everyone. they need extra bonus money for christmas....jk.. i dont know if its extra cash. not starting any rumor on this. it was just a comment.
