I remember seeing a good write on converting a regular sealed beam headlight to fit in Silverstar bulbs (remove the silicone on back, dremel out the hole, etc). I've tried searching and cannot find it - can anyone point me in the right direction??

In this thread there is a discussion about this and a link to a thread on another board with instructions on converting a sealed beam bulb into a conversion unit to allow the installation of bulbs like the Camaro and most newer cars. Check it out, he shows how to disassemble the sealed beam bulb to allow the instalation of regular bulbs.

Here is how I did it on my 2001 Formula:

Unfortunately, they eventually had standing water in them and a loose connection caused the stock driver's side bulb connector to melt. The H7 bulb is intended to be sealed inside a housing. The back of the H7 bulb has cardboard and is not water tight. It would be a good idea to cover the whole back with a thin film of clear silicone (the copper stuff I used might be conductive). The downside is that it may make the pins to short to cut and plug into the stock harness so you'll have to splice in a new harness with spade connectors (before sealing the back of the bulb). The spades are thinner than the stock bulb's spades already and if you cut too much, you'll create a looser connection which will lead to a melted bulb connector.

I now have Hella 90mm H9 projectors instead.

Man - there are a lot of links there. I think this is the one I was looking for . . http://performanceworks1.com/headlightmod.htm.

Do I just use the ST 9006 bulb in place of the removed one - and does it just fit right up or do I have to change some wiring?

That is for the LT1 Camaro. It won't work on the LS1 Firebird. Check out my first post in this thread for a LS1 Firebird retrofit.

If I find it, I'll post it. I may still have the housings that I made. If I find them, I'll post pictures.

Adjust your monitor.

My monitor is adjusted fine. I can see the text, but its difficult to read. The contrast between the text and background is insufficient for comfortable reading. Its not an issue with my monitor. Its an issue with the chosen colors. BTW, I do work on web applications (front-end and back-end) and often do UI work.
