What heads to buy, AFR 225's or ET 225's?
Hey guys just starting to plan out my next round of mods and then I'm done. I've had good luck with the stock ported castings but I'm going to be doing a cam upgrade soon so I figure I might as well get a thicker deck head while i'm at it. I'm looking at getting either the AFR 225's or the ET's 225 or 245's? I think the 245's might be too much but what do you guys think? I'll be keeping the stock LS6 intake with the 78mm TB, upgrading to Kook's 1 7/8" to 2" step headers or 2"-not sure of that yet either since the mid pipes are only 3" and those can't be upgraded yet. And lastley I'll be moving from a F1C to F1R.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I just ordered my set of ET heads after looking at AFRs and ETs together there is no comparison. Those ET heads are like works of art, I dont know if I want to bolt them on or hang them on the wall and just stare at them. Ive been looking into this for some time now and what made my mind up besides the side by side comparo is my buddy went to the LSX shootout tihs year and he told me just about everyone there that had any kind of a fast car NA or supercharged was running an ET head, he only saw 1 or 2 cars with AFRs, I figured these are all a bunch of guys that have done there homework so its got to be the right choice. good luck with your head hunt!!!

I would buy the ET's and also buy them in 6 bolt form. That way whenever you change over you have a 6 bolt head. As time goes on, there will be more and more options for 6 bolt heads.

I vote ETP's, as that is what I am using, but I would recommend you use adjustable roller rockers with them. The $150 rocker arm stands with the ET heads dont work too well at making the valvetrain geometry just right.
Are you going to be using a A2W intercooler with the F1R? I have been told by numerous people that the IAT gets too hot with a air to air intercooler. I am using a F1C just for that reason.
