RAM Powergrip HD failed after 3 passes/600 miles!
Well I am very dissapointed in this clutch. I had my car at the track today for the first time after breaking in the new clutch and diff. I was on e.t. streets and my car is making mid 400whp. The clutch had about 600 miles on it and I made 2 passes before the final one and they were both sort of easy launches so I let it rip the last time with a 5500 rpm launch which resulted in a little tire spin but overall good launch and then when I hit 2nd it was like the shifter hit a wall. I immediately let off and tried to put the car in 3rd and wouldn't go in or any other gear for that matter. I guess something must have broke in the pressure plate because the clutch just doesn't disengage regardless of what you do. I can't get the car in gear with it running and when I do get it started I can push the clutch in and drive around as if I weren't touching the pedal. So I had read about some problems with these clutches and bought it anyway, I guess you live and learn. I haven't spoke to Texas Speed yet which is who I bought it from but hopefully they may be able to help me out a little! Although I will not put another RAM in it The clutch and diff were installed at a well known shop and there was no sign of any problems before this complete failure.
Sorry for the long post but I am little ill right now and just wanted to let everyone know that another ram clutch has failed prematurely!

**** don't tell me that, I just installed mine. Oh well... i'll give it hell I guess... My LS7 clutch lasted maybe 8 months at 406rwhp. I just installed heads and various bolt-ons I never did that should put me right around 450rwhp or so... I usually launch off the limiter on ET streets and that LS7 clutch held up for a lot... hope this RAM will too.

man that sucks.
i had a host of issues with my 2nd ram HD clutch, but not sure if it was hydraulic issues or the clutch itself, i ended up changing ALL components. I know right now its handling 440 rwhp fine with lots of powershifting, no track time yet tho with a 10 bolt.
is your car in the panhandle? it looks awful familiar... coulda sworn i had seen it at XXX motorsports

I had the ram powergrip hd in my ss for about 10 months. I loved the clutch, I even thought that it was still good never slipped at all. Then I had to have a Tranny rebuild, so I take the car to ACE Racing Transmission and have them rebuild my clutch well they pull the clutch to look at everything just because all the gears are showing wear even reverse. I didn't use a shim and always thought the clutch was engaging way to high up. Well needless to say the clutch was way beyond its wear points the pressure flate and flywheel were all worn too. Only 10 months and that happends I think that it was too much clutch for the car and that is why it wore out quick. The clutch does not like to be slipped and that also played a big role in why she went quick. Also this clutch needs gears 3.42's will were it out quick, when I put the 4.10's in quick I noticed a big difference in how the clutch was, No more bucking, jerking and shaking from the tranny. With that all said I am going to try the LS2/LS7 combo, from what I hear this is a very nice clutch.
