I can tell you I am not a big fan, with gutted cats and the magnaflow it sounds weak, perhaps the cam will help a lot but I will be removing them in 08

i have that set up...edelbrock shorties, gutted cats and magnaflow...its quiet as hell...but the magnaflow flows pretty well. i put a cutout on it and it sounds real nice but i lost so much dam backpressure. so i capped the cutout, which i havent done since i put the cutout and man it feels so much more powerful, even though it sounds like a lil biotch. i raced blackhawk02 with the cutout open and closed, and man with the cutout closed my car performed way better, vince even noticed a difference...sorry for the paragraph but i thought i would share my .02

Crussin, Dirtybird had the exact same experience, I got the shorties from him as a stop gap measure and still louder than the non existant stock sound but I guess I am just used to the roar of the 396 now.

I dont. I did my whole exhaust, kept the cats, and gained, maybe 15hp. So ive been thinking about selling what i have and going with LT's and TD's

look at the power and torque i got outa my bolt on and cam only car through STOCK y-pipe and STOCK cats. They cant be too bad obviously...
