Stock dual/dual Alright so i have a bone stock 2001 ss. It has the factory SLP dual/dual exhaust on it and i was wondering if i should install pacesetter LT's and retain the factory exhaust..is this a good idea? would i really benefit that much by installing true duals or a diff cat back with the LT's for the extra $450 or so?

the dual dual is one of the best flowing cat backs..so ive heard, and it sounds AMAZING with LTs, several of my friends have LTs with manaflow, SLP LM, Corsa...yet they all love my "stock exhuast". Its pretty quite just cruising around, but with some throttle, people with notice

Yes, keep the set up you have, I have same set up, and it is supposed to be pretty free flowing, some gains over a WS6 exhaust. It is the SLP "power-flo", and its not cheap, so why throw it out for some thing maybe even cheaper? I plan on just bolting it up to some quality headers and go from there. my .02

SLP dual/dual is a great catback, keep it and do the headers. It'll make more power and still sound great.
Many other catbacks sound like *** once you do headers & ORY.

I went with the Pacesetter ORY with the Pacesetter LT's. Mine does not rattle at all. I also have it hooked up to the SLP dual/dual. It has a little more rumble to it after the headers but not much more than stock. It is VERY quiet to me. I have the cutout though when I want loud. I need to have someone drive by me in my car with the cutout closed just to get an idea of what it sounds like. I'm sure it is noticeable at WOT though.

I went with the Pacesetter ORY with the Pacesetter LT's. Mine does not rattle at all. I also have it hooked up to the SLP dual/dual. It has a little more rumble to it after the headers but not much more than stock. It is VERY quiet to me. I have the cutout though when I want loud. I need to have someone drive by me in my car with the cutout closed just to get an idea of what it sounds like. I'm sure it is noticeable at WOT though.
Thanks a lot for the input. I think that im also goin to get the Pacesetter ORY and a cutout.

slp dual dual is quite but if you find an slp powerflo that is louder by a bit, mostly at WOT...sounds kinda like the 2otl. the d/d muffler has an extra baffle in it. the powerflo muffler doesn't. the mufflers look the exact same on the outside but if you look inside it, you'll know right away

The Dual/Dual sounds the best w/ LT's and ORY.
I have the same set-up, but ended up putting high flow cats. It sounds sooooo much better now. I thought it sounded awesome before, now its got the same roar and ZERO rasp.
