Naaa, not picking any fights

Just showing that the car does work pretty damn good. I'm a fan of any car that is fast, s/c'ed, Nitrous powered or turbocharged front mount or rear(1,2 or eight turbos ), if it gets the job done...it gets the job done

I saw Mike Murillo's stang in a past issue of Hot Rod and have followed up on it since.

First off the car is very impressive. With that said, I don't get why it didn't go faster with 3000hp? Did he let out? The way the car takes off and with 3000hp, I would think it would et a little better but trap a lot better. Either way the car is sick, I would just think it has more in it than 160s.

Because it doesn't make 3000hp. I thought Murillo understood thermodynamics better than this. Not to say it isn't a clean car, but it looks like he had plenty of room up under the hood for those. Would have rather seen the radiator get put in the trunk than the turbos, now he has 15 some odd feet of intercooler tubing.

Could be twin 91's too. I don't think 3000hp is a lofty number....BBF and twins. Pretty common with alot of the outlaw cars out there.

To run a mid 7 at 164....yeah, he let off real early. I doubt he had it turned up either. I agree though, that is alot of unnecessary tubing....but the car does look good. One of the nicer coupes out there.

The car is very cool IMO. I am sure on his first outing he was getting some seat time with lower boost to get things ironed out .

Mike will get it lined out for sure. He doesnt screw around and build cars to show them off. He builds car to win races. I have followed his racing Career in great detail for the very beginning When he ran True Street. He will do what it takes to make sure he is on top. He always has.

Some are pretty cool actually...

Seen this at Santa Pod in July 07. Fair enough, it wasnt that fast, but they seemed to be having a lot of problems. Very nicely built though. Suck through turbo system !!! ( bit old tech )

those were shakedown passes..

There is no doubt big rear mounts work, look at Paul Major's and Stealth 99's (I think thats his screen name) cars. Both are most impressive.

Its not a matter of them 'fitting' or not, its more about putting that weight on the rear of the car where its going to do the most good on a tire and weight limited class. If you have the time to spool them things up on the line then I cant think of a better place for them, its not a huge run from the exhaust to those turbos on a fox mustang, plus its a nice clean route for the cold side piping away from the engine heat. Not to mention a lot easier to work on under the hood..

Air Cooled VW's is what I first started modding when I was a teenager, cheap and easy to make em scoot.

J

PS, Murillo's goals for that car is 6's....

like many other mustangs that have FRONT mounted turbos... most of them run big a/w IC's in the back of the car.
